Happy Hollandaise!

Posted on 16-04-2012 | 0 comments

April 16th is National Eggs Benedict Day! There are plenty of silly holidays out there, any excuse to celebrate! But, we are pretty sure this one takes the cake — or English muffin!

Eggs-630x472As legend has it… some guy by the name of Benedict, a fancy wall street broker staying in the Waldorf Hotel, woke up one morning with a sizable hangover, with a craving for greasy comfort food.   Mr. Benedict, fuzzy headed and not feeling 100%,  carried himself down to the hotel’s breakfast buffet where he proceeded to order up some buttered toast, poached eggs, crisp bacon, and a side of hollandaise…

The maître d’ thought this combo sounded pretty tasty and would be a perfect addition to the Sunday brunch menu.  Eggs Benedict was immediately added to the Waldorf breakfast and luncheon menus, but not before the ham was substituted for bacon and an English muffin replaced the toast.

Since the 1900’s, there has been a variety of ways Eggs Benedict has been created — here are a few from Wikipedia worth sharing!

  • Veggie Benedict, also known as California Benedict, replaces the bacon with avocado and tomato.
  • Irish Benedict replaces the ham with corned beef hash or Irish bacon.
  • Pennsylvania-Dutch Benedict replaces the ham or bacon with scrapple. Popular in the eastern region of Pennsylvania.
  • Eggs Benedict Arnold replaces the English muffin with a biscuit and the hollandaise with country gravy, and also cooks the poached egg longer, so that the yolk is fully cooked.
  • Eggs Pope Benedict substitutes German pumpernickel bread for the muffin and German bratwurst sausage for the bacon. It was created when Benedict XVI became pope in 2005.
  • Goose Benedict was invented by James Delingpole. It consists of goose fat spread on an English muffin, with a fried goose foie gras stuffed with black truffle and black pudding, topped with a gull’s egg Hollandaise sauce.
  • Huevos Benedict replaces the English muffin with a twice-folded warm corn tortilla, and the ham with avocado. Also, salsa roja and cilantro are added on top of the hollandaise sauce.
  • Eggs Frederick substitutes tomato ketchup for hollandaise sauce.
  • No Eggs Benedict! Click here for a vegan version of the famous recipe!

If you need more room in your beruby homepage, or would like to maket things just a bit simpler, here’s a quick and easy fix. You can ‘minimize’ your favorites side bar by simply clicking on the small blue arrow (circled above). You will then see a smaller version of your favorites side bar, thus giving you more space in your browser. To open up this bar again, just click on the arrow again (see the squared box above).
On a bit of a side note: We realize there are still a few bumps related to the new design that need to be worked out. Our technical team is working hard to find solutions, and we hope to have everything in great shape soon. We appreciate your patience! :)

Picture1How do I earn money with BeRuby?
BeRuby is the cash back portal that shares its revenues with you. How does it work? BeRuby has agreements with hundreds of advertisers to help them achieve their marketing goals. For referring customers to them, they pay us a commission and we happily share that commission with you. On BeRuby you can earn money by visiting your favorite websites, and registering or purchasing from a multitude of America’s biggest brands.

Pay for Visit Sites
I get paid to visit Facebook? Awesome! What’s the catch? No catch, just visit. You can only earn a commission for one visit per day (applies to all pay-per-visit advertisers). Sorry Facebook addicts.

Pay for Registration Sites
Your information is valuable!  So valuable, our advertisers are willing to pay for it! It is important to always use your true information when registering with a BeRuby advertiser. Doing otherwise may risk your chance of earning a commission. Additionally, always read the terms and conditions associated with commission, as the advertiser may require specific information.

Pay for Purchasing Sites
As a cash back, pay for purchase advertisers are a big part of BeRuby. These advertisers typically pay a percentage of the sales total or a flat fee. It is important to always read the advertiser’s terms and conditions, as they may have specific qualifications to receive commissions. Find more information about t this in the “How do I use BeRuby for shopping?” section of the FAQ.

I want to buy a …! How can I find a store that sells that on BeRuby?
With over 700 advertisers on BeRuby we have something to meet just about everyone’s shopping needs. BeRuby advertisers are categorized, and sub categorized to help you find exactly what you are looking for. Additionally, you can use our handy search function, found in the top right area of BeRuby.

What’s the difference between my pending and confirmed balances?

Posted on 29-07-2010 | 0 comments

Picture1

Hey BeRuby! What’s the difference between my confirmed balance and my pending balance? It’s really simple…

Pending Balance: When you complete an online activity through Beruby (such as buying online or registering on a site), the company will first need to tell BeRuby.com that this activity actually took place. When this happens, your pending balance is calculated.

Confirmed Balance: When a company which you have made a transaction with pays BeRuby.com, the amount is “confirmed”, and your confirmed balance goes up. At the same time, your pending balance will decrease by the same amount.

Total Account Balance: This is the total amount of money (Pending plus Confirmed) that you can expect from BeRuby.

Please note that some advertisers work on a special payment schedule and pay quicker than 2-3 months. Ebay typically pays one month later, and usually on the last business day of the month.

Posted on 30-06-2010 | 1 comment

It’s the end of the month, and that means it’s BeRuby pay day! We’ve been paid by the BeRuby advertisers and we’ve shared the money with you as promised. Check your account to see if you qualify for a payment. Here’s how:

BeRuby payment

First, click on the “My Balance” tab in your BeRuby account. If you are eligible for a payment (a minimum confirmed balance of $10.00) a PayPal link will appear in your account. Click on the PayPal logo to request an amount from BeRuby.

If you would prefer to use an AlertPay account to receive payment, please email your BeRuby log in address, AlertPay account and amount to uscc@beruby.com

Why isn’t my balance confirmed?

To avoid any confusion, here is break down of what has been paid:

* Any payments received from advertisers for commissions. Remember, it takes approximately 2-3 months for us to be paid by the advertiser. As soon as they pay us, we’ll pay you!
* The 5 pay-per-visit sites which are paid weekly: Facebook, MySpace, CNN, Twitter and Youtube. These are paid weekly with a 2 day delay.
* Ideas4All, Ebay and the BeRuby blog are paid until the end of the previous month.

If you have have any questions about this month’s payments, please feel free to contact us at uscc@beruby.com.

How do I personalize my BeRuby homepage?

Posted on 19-04-2010 | 0 comments

One of the best parts of BeRuby is personalization. You can create a homepage that suits your needs, with your favorite links. Having everything in one simple place makes surfing the web easier. Plus, it doesn’t hurt when you make a little money too!

Here are some basic instructions on how you can personalize your BeRuby homepage.

1) Log in to your BeRuby account. Under the “Home” tab, click “Add Category”

AddCategory1

2) Now, choose the categories you would like to appear on your BeRuby homepage. Also, select where you want them to appear by choosing a position (left, center, right). For this example, I have decided to add the “Classifieds” category. When you are done, click “send”

3) When you return to your BeRuby homepage, you will notice the category(ies) you selected at the bottom.
To personalise each box or module, simply click on “Directory” under the “Home” tab.

4) From the Directory, choose the category that you have added. So, I would choose “Classifieds”. A listing of available websites will appear in the right part of the window. To add a link to your homepage, click on the green house button.
AddCategory2 Directory

I have decided to add Auto Trader to my homepage. Once you press the green button, the following screen will appear. Now, simply click on the Auto Trader logo, hold, and drag it into the place you want it in the box. You can put it on the top, left, center, or right. Finally, click “Accept”. Now the box, as you have designed it, will appear on your homepage.

AddCategory3 drag logo

Lastly, you can change the look of your BeRuby homepage by moving the boxes (modules) around. Simply click, hold and drag on any box to move it to another position. Additionally, you can remove any categories by pressing the X button on the upper right area of each box. If you would like to change the links listed in a box, click on the + button.

Hey BeRuby, How and when do I get paid?

Posted on 08-02-2010 | 9 comments

wheres money

You’ve been signing in, visiting your favorite places on the web, invited a few friends, and maybe you’ve even made a purchase or two. Now, you might be asking, “Okay, I’ve done my part, now, when do I get paid?!” Here’s how it works.

First:
It is important to remember that there are different payout times for different advertisers.
For example, a visit to the BeRuby blog will show up immediately in your Pending Balance. At the end of the month, when we pay the bills, it will be converted to your Confirmed Balance.

It works a bit differently when you complete a registration or purchase. If completed correctly, your purchase will register in your Pending Balance within 2 to 3 days after the action date. Then, it will be converted to your Confirmed Balance when the advertiser pays us. This usually takes 1 to 3 months. It just depends on how quickly they pay their bills! Typically, BeRuby enters in all existing payments at the end of the month, so keep an eye out for an increase in your Confirmed Balance around that time.

If after a few days you don’t see your purchase or registration in your Pending Balance, you can make a claim with BeRuby so we can investigate what went wrong. Remember to check the Terms and Conditions of the advertiser first, as you may not have completed their requirements. You can find this information by clicking on the commission amount, located next to the advertiser’s logo. Occasionally, visits may take a bit of time to register, but usually, they are automatic.

Second:
Once you have reached the $10.00 minimum payout (in your Confirmed Balance), you can request a payment by clicking on the Balance tab in your BeRuby account. If you have reached this amount, you will see a link allowing you to request your payment. At this time, we only make payments through PayPal. If you have another idea of how payments should be made, (other than electronic transfer companies like PayPal) feel free to let us know!
